I have a tradition of sharing my favorite bento from the year. This year I am joining my Bento Bloggers & Friends in a Top 13 of 2013 link party. Please use the button at the end of this post to see some amazing bento ideas.
This bento delighted me. I thought it was so cute that I almost did not want to eat it. So of course it made my top 13.
I picked this one to include because it seems unique. I assembled a lemonade stand from tortillas and used candy for the pitcher and lemonade. The pasta is lemon pasta and of course I had to add lemon tartlets and raspberries.
This is another one I choose because it is different than the others. I polled my readers to see what type of bento they wanted me to make and they picked “interesting colorful food layout (not character)”. I was happy with the result.
I love working with homemade bread. This bright spring lunch is my favorite homemade bread lunch from the year.
This is a favorite because of the pussy willows. I was so pleased that I was able to recreate them out of food. One set is savory and one sweet.
The result of this birthday lunch was different from my original plan but it ended up being better than my plan. The pretzel twists looked like candles so I added cheese flames.
I make a lot of quesadilla lunches because it is so easy to make tortillas cute. I love how this Australian flag turned out.
When I started to think about my top 13 this oak leaf potato salad was an easy one to put on the list. I loved cutting out and eating the potato and bell pepper oak leaves.
It probably is obvious from the name of my blog, I love sheep and lambs. Last May I shared a series of nursery rhyme themed lunches that included sheep. I picked this one as a favorite because I love the mashed potato sheep and blue cheese boy.
This Mr. Potato Head is my favorite from a twice baked potato series. I flipped him upside down. It made for a fun and filling meal.
I picked this one because it was fun to make and stands out from the others.
A very simple lunch but I loved the result.
This was made for Dinosaur and Volcano day during my special preschool camp. I made several versions of the volcano pizza and this was my favorite.
