Pretzel Crust Pizza

Pretzel Crust Pizza Lunch

I was inspired by Little Caesars Soft Pretzel Crust Pizza commercial to try it. I don’t have any Little Caesars locations near my house so my only option was to try making it myself. Mine does not look as beautiful as theirs. Also I like my pizza crust thin and crispy so I am not sure why I liked the idea of pretzel pizza. This was a planned dinner with leftovers for lunch meal. I would not make this again but if you like deep dish or soft pizza crust you may enjoy making these.

I mostly followed this pretzel recipe but made small rounds (easier to boil and will fit in a lunch box). I cooked the pretzel rounds plain for about 8 minutes (time will vary depending on the size of your round). I then sprinkled the edge with salt, spread with tomato sauce and covered with cheese. I then continued baking until the bottom of the crust was brown and cheese melted.

Basic Instructions: Follow a soft pretzel recipe but make small rounds and only sprinkle salt on the edge. Bake for part of the cooking time, take rounds out of the oven and add sauce and cheese. Bake until cheese is melted and the crust is done to your liking.

Container: EasyLunchBoxes

Left Side: Pretzel crust pizza with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese
