I will be in Japan for Hinamatsuri (Girl’s Day) this year. I made this in advance for my 15 year old niece. She helped place the black sesame seeds on the radish flowers and said that she prefers my more traditional bento. I enjoy making them but I need more practice. I pretty much copied this bento made by Mahiro Mama.
Container: ECO Lunchboxes
Emperor and Empress: Cooked Nishiki rice molded into shape with plastic-wrap. Hair and facial features (spinach), bodies (bell pepper), baton and fan (cheddar cheese), the empress has a crown pick in her head
Also in the box: Rice, carrot flowers, radish flowers with black sesame seeds, snow peas, strawberries, lettuce, and carrot
Creative, yummy, and healthy. Blessings, Mtetar

Beautiful lunch!
I completely and utterly have fallen in love with this!
What a lovely, well made bento – just oozes cuteness! I bet your niece had lots of fun eating that. 🙂
Thank you so much Winnie!
