The stitch for week 43 of TAST was the Buttonhole Wheel Cup. I did not pay close enough to the directions with my first two attempts (sampler below). The spokes on the wheel need to be close for the cup part to look nice. The photo above is my third attempt.

The best way to understand how thread, tension, stitches and spacing work is by trying as everything works for different types of embroidery. The two first cups are perfect in a free style embroidery and the third for a more formal look. There is so much to discover in embroidery. Well done.
this stitch is difficult. I admit cheat a bit and add small stitches to help the detached buttonhole stitches to held in place.
