I have a tradition with my friend Renae’s family. (For all the years I have done this, I am surprised that this is the first time to share it here.) For Renae, her husband, and two daughters, I make and bring bagels (more recently sometimes scones for Renae and the older daughter) for breakfast on or near their birthdays. For the daughters, I give them individually wrapped chocolates for their new age. In 2023, the oldest turned 18 (I gave her a box of chocolate with 18 pieces). My plan was that I would continue with the bagels as long as she was nearby but stop the chocolate. It was not a popular idea so I agreed to continue the chocolate until 21.

- Plain
- Asiago Cheese
- Cinnamon Sugar

This family has been there for me in my times of need and I know I can always call on them. This is just a small thing I can do to show my appreciation to the family.
