The stitch for week 38 of TAST was the Drizzle stitch. I struggled with this stitch. It took me a LONG time to complete the few stitches on this sampler. I normally do not enjoy threading needles and this stitch requires re-threading as part of the stitch. I liked the cast-on part of the stitch but had trouble with getting my needle back through the fabric. I started with the milliners needle as recommended but I had more success without it. I tried different threads and had the most success with 2 strands of DMC. My biggest troubles were re-threading the needle and getting the needle back into the fabric after creating the drizzle.
But there are people who can successfully create beautiful work with the drizzle. I really appreciated this beautiful lamb stitched by Crazy Q Stitcher. Also check out the comments on this post for some beautiful examples of the stitch.
Thank you for your kind comment on my lamb. It is much appreciated.
I didn’t like the Drizzle either, but by sticking to the TAST project I have learned to be patient and try everything, then selecting and using the stitches I like in my other projects.
I hope you will have fun with the other stitches.
