Tanabata is a Japanese star festival. According to a folktale, Hikoboshi (star Altair) and Orihime (star Vega) were lovers and separated by the Milky Way to only meet once a year. It is common to celebrate with fireworks. I made this bento lunch for my 14 year old niece.
Container: Blue Box from Japan
Hikoboshi & Orihime: Cooked lasagna noodles (cut with circle cookie cutter), food marker details
Milky Way: Angel hair pasta with a little butter and Parmesan cheese, carrot and cucumber stars
Fireworks: Strawberries and blueberries, Greek yogurt with multi-colored sprinkles
